Vibe also make a plug-n-play amplifier that plugs into your existing speaker output which saves any re-wiring... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08FBHY5QG/ ... _lig_dp_it
I just bit the bullet and went for the Vibe speaker & amp upgrade @ £264.58 delivered to Dublin with Prime.
Should have the amp delivered on Sat and the speakers on Sunday.

If possible, i will test how the Vibe Amp sounds with the stock BMW basic speaker setup then install the Vibe speakers on Sunday.

If one does not have the mid-range speaker & tweeter at the front on the dashboard and in the back behind the center console is this difficult to get working?

i.e. Is there cabling already so that it will be a "plug & play" install or is there extra wiring involved?

AFAIK the wiring harness for each car is specific to the sound system..it certainly is as far as the 676 vs 677 systems..
We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…

Vibe OptiSound AMP is in.

There is a huge amount of cabling that is not required. Vibe could have optimised this.

It does take quite a bit of space.
I have to figure this out as the head unit does not fit.

There is an improvement in sound quality.
Nothing major / stupendous. You wouldn't notice it if you didn't do a before & after. But considering the price, it's probably worth it.

Has anyone installed speakers and new wiring harness or is it just too bigger job, sometimes there’s a smaller link harness plugged into the main cabin harness?

There is a big difference between all 3 audio systems..the basic system has no external amplifier..the other two have amps on the rear bulkhead…..the mid range amp uses analogue signal cabling the top end amp uses fibre optic…there may be some common wiring but it’s not that obvious..

OK. So I purchased two sets of the Vibe OptiSound 4's for BMW.

Went to install one set on the rear mid-ranges only to find that they are too large.
Simply won't fit.

Are those speakers smaller than the door speakers?
Would like to know before I go removing the door cards.

Anyway, I have a spare set of brand new door speakers & tweeters if anyone is interested.

I will be in Stevenage over the weekend so I I can bring them over.

The speakers in the rear are the same size as in the doors.. possibly the depth might be an issue though, not sure what the max depth is on the rears
if its got tits or tyres..its trouble :D

So where were you thinking of putting it?
A couple of suggestions...
1) On top of the glovebox.
2) On the bulkhead in the boot (same place as OE amp, if there is enough cable to do this).

How long is the cable loom?
