Satnav volume
Afternoon all,
Finally started tinkering with 'Project Freeleeta' which is the first one I've had with the old flippy screen and satnav.
I can set up the satnav and it takes me exactly where I want to go.
However, the woman giving the instructions insists on bellowing at the top of her voice!
I found 'Navi volume' in the settings, and adjusted it as low as it will go. She just shouts 'QUIETER' or 'LOUDER' at exactly the same volume whatever I do.
I found that if I'm quick I can make her quieter using the volume knob while she's talking, but at the next instruction she's back up to full megaphone mode.
The looks you get driving through town with the roof down and this bloody woman shouting at you to 'TURN LEFT'.
To be honest, I'd happily have no volume at all.
So is there some other way to adjust it, or failing that, turn the instructions off?

Sometimes my friend, you're about as helpful as a fart in a spacesuit!
As you know, we hermits of Norfolk rarely stray into the big wide world anyway, so I won't in all likelihood ever use the satnav, but as a selling point, being deafened at every junction is not going to go down well!

I think the voice level is set to the age of the driver mate, can't be changed.enuff_zed wrote: ↑Mon Apr 18, 2022 1:45 pmSometimes my friend, you're about as helpful as a fart in a spacesuit!

Finally got the car back on all four wheels and started up.
Nearly shat meself when Brian Blessed's louder sister yelled at me again!
Please, does anyone have any sensible suggestions for what is wrong, or what I'm doing wrong, or just how to mute the damn woman?

Appreciate it's no use in the end, but I really thought I had the answer!
The whole turning the volume down while she was talking was how I had changed it in the past. However, I can't remember if it 'sticked' or not, as you say yours returns to full volume after.
Sorry, I'll take a look when I'm next in it.

I'd love to know how you get on - I've only used the Sat Nav once on my car.
Apart from taking an age to programme my destination the BLOODY WOMAN KEPT SHOUTING AT ME.
I wonder if turning down the Nav also affects the speed related volume of the stereo?
Coupes because stunning!

Tried everything. I think she's getting angry now!
Thing is, the satnav isn't actually that bad, but I can't put up with her!

You can switch the volume off though but only for that trip.
Press the control button, then press it long again and the speaker symbol will have a line through it.
To adjust the volume I found that there are two places. One is the relative volume which I set to low, and the other is by switching music on and then do the louder and quieter thingy
