B21 wrote: Mon Apr 25, 2022 8:54 am Interesting ..my first prang I’ve seen on runs in 5 years and well over 100 days of trips

G29 (heavily tuned) did a sharp right turn into a wood shortly after turning onto a minor road..
Oooppps, oooppps and more oooppps

That looks like quite a sore one.

My immediate thought was unless the camera is deceiving I hope there was a lot more tread on the rear tyres than that front??

G29 M40i Thundernight with Ivory interior, all option packs (here for a while, hopefully )
G29 M40i Misano Blue all option packs (Gone 26k of fun)
E89 35iS, Valencia Orange, Design Pure Traction pack (Gone)
    E89 23i sDrive, Silver (Gone)

Yes I checked the treads..more than adequate amounts for any police / insurance related matters..

Suspect that the gearbox was programmed with xHP to remove over speed downshift protection.. :tumbleweed:

Dropping it from high revs in 2nd into 1 st would lock the rear wheels up temporarily..de-facto hand brake turn..
We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…

Driver is fine…I think it happened so fast he didn’t have time to have that slo-mo type experience..bit shocked afterwards….took it steady home in convoy..

It was an eventful weekend…on my way up to see PeeblesZ4 for a coffee on the Saturday I came on the seen of a RTA…

There were 5 cars there already with a man giving CPR to the motorcyclist, so felt that in this case I would just clutter the place up…

Sadly he died at the scene…

Ouch. That's the 1st prang I've heard of on a forum run too. Hope the damage isn't too extensive and driver and passenger are unhurt.

Peter, what is that on the boot of your car?
I assume it's in preparation for the Capri-esque bag of cement to keep 400bhp in touch with the road?

Very funny…actually I’ve never really detected on E89s any great tail wagging unlike TR7s/TR8s and Crapis… :headbang: :poke: :tumbleweed:

It’s the wife’s fortnight pan European capability…

That is not going to be a cheap fix, especially with the matt paint finish. It wouldn't suprise me if the final cost wasn't north of 8K +
