French Riviera (Côte d'Azur) road trip

Post by MikeyH » Tue Apr 12, 2022 11:24 am

Thank you Argyll Andy. Is this easy and safe to use? Is it a permanent fix or just to get to a tyre place?
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.

Just to get you to a tyre place. Can be multi packed for a slightly bigger hole but just lets you get mobile again and hopefully holding enough air to get you back on the move, slowly……….

I am back already :( we just got back yesterday! :)

Before I start, in 2.800 km, I saw only one, and I repeat, only one BMW Z4 E85. So guys, keep them safe, they are rare. And the reaction in Monaco was amazing, Z4 was photographed a lot.

    Total trip: 2.800 km.
Average fuel consumption: 7.5 litres per 100 km.
Average oil consumption: 1 liter per 2.800 km :D
    Route as planned:
    → Zagreb - Genova - San Tropez - Avignon
    → Avignon - Milano - Zagreb

It was a mixed drive from Zagreb to Genova was all highway, from Genova to San Tropez was a back road, then the highway to Avignon, back to Zagreb, all highway via Grenoble.

In short, we had a wonderful time, this is the first time for me in France, and the roads are amazing, better than in Italy. All our accommodations had a mandatory parking space or garage. So if you want (I don't know what is the policy here, I am not advertising, so I can share AirBnB accommodations that we used, the best one was in Avignon and Genova, Milan was ok, and San Tropez was also ok).

For me, one thing on my bucket list is done - Monaco tunnel! :) it was amazing, in one point I was going up and down thru the whole F1 track, and the Monaco police were just waving at me. :D

These are just some photos. :)

You lucky s*ds, really envious, what an amazing trip to go on. You now have amazing memories and amazing photos, thank you for sharing them with us. Maybe some will end up in the future in the photo competitions.

Thank you so much! Well, our photo competitions are remarkable, and there is plenty of respectable competition, so I will give it a try! :)

We are definitely planning to return, we loved San Tropez. But Avignon really has a charm, we were there for 4 days as our final destination, and you can easily spare a whole week there.

And this, being a car forum, I will add again how every time I fell in love with his car. What a nice ride, comfortable, with plenty of room. Basically, we would drive on the highway without stopping, well, we would stop when I need to fill up the tank.

French roads are amazing, from the highway to the backroads, Italian, not so much, and Croatian are the worst. :)
