I collect some WWII memorabilia both original and reproductions.
So I purchased an armband that was clearly represented as a reproduction but I was wondering if in fact there ever were armbands like this for real.
Description - From top to bottom:
Wings with some kind of branches in the middle , acorns, and a swastika at the center of the wings/branches. I know what oak leaves look like and that oak trees have acorns but these branches look like pine branches. Above the swastika is a banner that reads "LUFTSCHUTZ".
Below all that is "BMW" in a very large font.
Below that is "Flugmotorenbau GmbH."
Do you think it is a reproduction of an actual Nazi armband or just one from somebodies imagination?
I would post a photo but some people are pretty sensitive with respect to swastikas...even though they were a good luck symbol prior to Hitler. I don't want to unintentionally offend anyone.
