Autocross tire advice needed.
Hello, I'm buying a set of track tires for my stock 07 Z4MR using the stock size wheels. I'm looking at Continental Extreme Contact Force because reviews say they grip well cold like they will be used for Autocrossing. 245/40/18 in front and 275/35/18 on the rear. Anyone have advice on a better size or tire? Thanks

Ok, keep your hair on!KMG wrote:Thanks guys.
You asked for advice based on other people's experience.
The deafening silence just means no-one as any experience with which to help you.
Sorry.

Okay. My mistake. I just assumed wrongly that there would be people on this forum who may have knowledge about autocross tires for a Z4m and be willing to post.

I’d guess that most people don’t even know what auto cross is (I had to Google it and it’s not what I thought it might have been!).

Got it. I'm looking for size and brand recommendations for DOT approved 200 wear rated road racing tires.

Ah, I’m guessing you are the USA? I think the majority of members here are in the UK which is why we can’t offer much help.

You will have a lot more responses about autocross tires if you search/ask over on Zpost. That's a mostly US based Z4 forum.
I dont think the Continental Extreme Contact Force is even available in Europe...

Glad you got some help in the end.
Apologies if I came across slightly rude.
If I had realised you were 'over the pond' it would have made a lot more sense.
Apart from specifics like this question, there is a huge mine of information on this forum and hopefully your next query will get a better response.

Have seen them at the 'Ring on some exotica, but never found them for sale over here, so I assumed they were there simply for testing.
Wasn't going to buy, just wanted to see what level of wallet-raping they'd be compared to P-Zero Corsa/Trofeo, or Michelin Cup 2 R or Goodyear Supersport RS

Tires are in short supply in America and the FALKEN AZENIS RT615K+ RF tires are the only ones I found in stock in the sizes I wanted. Not sure if they are an option overseas. If they are, any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

I'm running semi slick nankard NS2R and they are amazing.... And for the price I don't think you can better them , they are definitely daily drivable too but extremely noisey and sound like a turbine spinning Down. The road version has a fair wear rating and still being a semi slick pout performances any of the big brand high performance road tyres in terms of dry grip performance.

Another vote here for Nankang's, I use the AR-1.
Noisy but VERY grippy.
I use them on my OEM rims, street Michelin's on the 19" CSL's.
Here's a track snap too:
