BMW Alpina B3 Bi turbo E92. 43k miles. Immaculate

Post by Pondrew » Sat Mar 05, 2022 5:50 pm

On the off chance that anyone is interested.
My E92 B3 bi-turbo is regrettably now for sale. I have a genuine reason.
2008. 43,300 miles with full main dealer history.
Faultless and almost immaculate inside and out.
One previous owner. All paperwork from new, full bookpack, 2 keys etc
Black Sapphire, creme/ beige dakota interior.
N54 engine, making 355bhp and 500nm from factory.
A sure fire future classic; it has got to be the best around (and there aren't many).
Full details are on the Alpina owner's club forum but I'm not sure whether I am allowed to link to it, so I won't.
£15,500
Located in Spalding, Lincs. Please PM for further details.

Thanks chaps. She really is as good as she looks. I'm almost in tears at the thought of her going (stupid I know).

Very nice car, looks like new, such a shame you are selling. If I was in the market I would buy it but alas no funds for another car.
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.

Pricing is really difficult, due to being such a niche market. Most people think Alpina is a resurrected brand owned by Renault!

The irony is that a similar age and condition M3 E92 is selling for near £25k. I've driven an M3 and the B3 is a much, much better car. They cost a lot less to run too! Markets are funny old things.

Just a few more details (just in case):
The 6 speed ZF steptroinc gearbox (called a switchtronic by Alpina) has buttons on the steering wheel for manual changes, rather than paddles, as well as the selector knob. They remapped the gearbox to give better and faster change patterns in manual mode. It is as good as any DCT I've seen without the pain when driving normally.
The suspension set up is (allegedly) tailored to each individual car at the factory. The ride is much more comfortable than an M3 but is taught when required.

Alpina remove the speed limiter aswell, so quoted top speed (for bragging rights only) is 168mph!

Beautiful looking machine. I was tentatively looking to swap out the Roadster S for something with 4 seats towards the summer and this looks interesting. It wasn't on the list of possibilities but let me go do some research...

I was exactly the same TBH. I was looking at all sorts of BMWs (I very nearly bought a 6 series vert). When I saw this one it changed my mind. The E92 is much roomier in the back than a 6 series too for reasons that I can't work out.

I am a cheapskate too, so the lower RFL and things like standard brakes make it a better proposition than anything 'M' IMHO.

I have only advertised it on here and the Alpina register for now, so don't think there will be a queue :)
