Interested in this as I have one due for delivery today.
Does the automatic gear shift head just pull off with force as in the E90 manual?
EDIT:
Here is a video showing removal on an E90.

On older models, the stock shift is just plain chrome.B21 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 25, 2022 11:58 amHow does it differ from the stock one?wanderer wrote: ↑Fri Feb 25, 2022 11:48 am FYI.

The replacement adds the newer LED style gear shift as in the picture above. I think these may have been introduced with the LCI versions? But I'm open to correction there.

I must say I do like that, would you recommend it as an upgrade?wanderer wrote: ↑Fri Feb 25, 2022 11:48 am FYI.

On the face of it, i would definately recommend it.
As you can imagine it is a fingerprint magnet, especially if you have oily fingers from lotions/creams/ touching your face etc.
It isn't the brushed chrome effect that the existing gear shift has.
It's a shiny silver effect and is made from plastic (not that it makes a difference - looks metal). The rear is a pseudo leather effect.
I have some G-Technic ceramic coating left over, so i may use some of that on it, just for the hell of it (see if it makes a difference with fingerprints).
If you have a look at the manufactureres website you will notice that there is also a darker shade available.
That would probably be preferable had i known about it.
There is also a carbon effect one, but i certainly don't like that look.

When you place the ebay order they will ask you to confirm LHD or RHD and whether the plus sign is at the bottom or the top in your existing car.
In my case the plus sign is at the bottom and the minus sign is at the top.

Fantastic, really look forward to seeing the pics, I'm definitely not a fan of the current shifter on my car which resembles Fred flintstones club in my opinionwanderer wrote: ↑Fri Feb 25, 2022 9:57 pmI haven't changed it yet, will do this weekend and pop some more photos up.Nick7602 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 25, 2022 9:21 pmI must say I do like that, would you recommend it as an upgrade?wanderer wrote: ↑Fri Feb 25, 2022 11:48 am FYI.

Is this definately a direct replacement of the original gearchange?
I thought the one pictured was only for DCT gearboxes.
If it fits and works great, as its better looking than the normal auto changer.

Looking at the sellers page it looks like this is for the automatic box - not the DCT.Nick7602 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 25, 2022 9:21 pmI must say I do like that, would you recommend it as an upgrade?wanderer wrote: ↑Fri Feb 25, 2022 11:48 am FYI.

Be sure which box you have before you order - not aware of the CT being fitted to the 3.0 car myself but sure one of our 'gurus' can advise
