Another roof problem

Post by PhilA52 » Mon Feb 14, 2022 4:55 pm

Good evening All
I tried to lower roof (yellow warning light came on) looked in the boot and noticed a small piece of stainless steel had come away from the parcel shelf micro switch asked BMW for a new one, they never had a clue
Can anyone give me a parts number or info on how to get a new one
Alpina Roadster 2005 model
Thanks

Phil you can fix this fairly easily

Its probable you have popped the shelf down or up and displaced the silver armature

Do you still have the metal part?
If the forum helped you, why not help the forum back. Thats the Z4 way!

Phil,
It looks like you have this sorted but for future reference;
On www.thealpinaregister.com there is a thread which gives details of every part for every model of Alp which are Alpina specific.
If it isn't there then the part is a standard E85 Z4 one. You should be able to read the BMW VIN number (even though it is crossed out), quote this for BMW parts and the Alpina VIN number for Alpina specific parts. It can sometimes take a while to get the dealer to find them but it works for me!

All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

F31 320i. Good car.
E89 20i Now fully dried
Z3 'free litre'. Project and a half. Complicated!
Mazda3 sold
Tatty old R56 Mini Cooper. Money pit!
