But would be an option if you could organize a meeting with all my minions this year.

newbie question on these relays - are they main dealer only or are the ebay ones just as good/reliable?

The part number of that is 12631742690

The part number of the current version of a roof relay is 12631742690

So yes it’s ok it would appear..

You have to be aware of fakes and clones on eBay and Amazon ..at 93% score it’s not compelling to moi..

Personally I’d buy them from a BMW dealer ….it’s one of those parts you really really don’t want to f**k up…

Couple of years ago these were only 15 quid from dealers. Very common BMW part.

Not silly at all. We've all been new to this at some stage. In the boot in that secret area with the battery. Rear of car side of battery and above what looks like a cylinder resting on its side. You have to undo a screw to get at the relays(2). I changed mine a few weeks ago, and seriously, it is so very easy to do.

I did a relay change today.

I was wondering if anyone can see if the old relays look bad?

They look all ok to me.
Still, it’s for piece of mind!

The date code from the picture is 2136, that is week 36 in 2021, less than a year old. What should we see? The risk of a destroyed hydraulic pump arises after 5-10 years.

That is critical:
