As per title.
Just got my new to me Z4 last weekend ('07 2.5i individual edition -- gorgeous ext/int color combo, see below!) but the one thing I don't much care for is the steering wheel; it's too thin for my tastes. Had an '03 3.0i back in the day for which I bought a rewrapped thicker wheel (from this very forum even!) which I remember felt great and had cool tricolor stitching as well to boot.
So, I've been on the lookout for either someone that can rewrap a steering wheel in the Netherlands, or a second hand / refurbished steering wheel. The one I guess I'm looking for is the M multifunction version, but apparently they've massively gone up in price, as I can't find one in NL or Germany for that matter for less than 1000 EUR, which is insane in my opinion.
However I did come across a great looking second hand one from another model. Seller claims it's from an E90, but sure looks more like an E46 one to me. Either way, it has multifunction, and an airbag for a way more reasonable price. Still high, but a lot better than 1000+ Eur.
Seller states it'll fit anything from an E90 to E93 and E88 1 series etc. Whatever the case, what I would really like to know is, would it fit in my car? Assuming it IS an E46 steering wheel it should slot right in, correct?
Alternatively, if you have a thicker steering wheel for sale for a reasonable price, hit me up!
Here's a pic of the one I found:

Your car looks fantastic BTW.
I think that probably is off an E90 as it doesn't have the cruise control buttons because E90 cruise has a stalk like Z4s.
My E46 Sport steering wheel had the cruise buttons on the wheel, like this:-
Although it could also be off an E8* 1 Series from what I remember of my (facelift) E87. But sadly I don't know if it would fit your Z4.
Hopefully someone will!

Thanks for both the compliment and the reply!
Looking at that e46 steering wheel it's clear that the one I posted is different, certainly as far as the multifunction buttons are concerned. Sure looks similar though. Hopefully someone else knows if an e90 one will fit!

Why not send your existing wheel to Royals for a recover. They can increase the thickness with padding to your requirements
I personally like the original wheel but agree it’s too thin. I now have an M which I think is just a little to fat
So maybe go between the two

Lovely colour combo!
There's an excellent upholsterer in Apeldoorn who can help you rewrap the wheel. Alternatively, there’s one on Marktplaats which isn’t entirely ruined. Could do with a good clean up, but should be fine. Finally, German EBay tends to pop up every now and then.
Good luck!

Four Alfa's and a Ducati later, I've turned to the dark side...

It will fit but the outer diameter is larger so it's not comfortable and will feel like a bus.
One thing though, if you get one from an ibus BMW like an e46, with the slip ring then I bet you can get the cruise buttons to work and instead of installing a stalk.
ps. NauchtBlau and champagne? 152 alloys? Our cars are siblings.
