Leaving battery disconnected for the Winter

Post by meh92 » Mon Nov 22, 2021 6:46 pm

I have to change storage locations for my '07 Z4 3.0si this Winter. I can't put a battery tender on it and I can't access it to start it and let it run regularly. Will leaving it disconnected for 4 months cause any issues with the computer?

Thank you

You'll need to reset the bloody clock.

Ditto. I’ve done this with No issues other than having to reset the clock.

I put something under the boot lid to stop it shutting to prevent getting locked out

No, I can't see much point in starting it when it is off the road. An occassional drive would probably be a better idea.

My main concern would be avoiding flat spots on the tyres but I can't see removing the battery being a problem - other than the clock!

Axle stands will preserve your tyres.
