Is this RSU delivered to the car automatically?

You need to have the MyBMW app on your phone which will download the new software. Later when you connect your phone to the car, it will transfer the new software to the car. After that, the car will let you know it's ready to update.

Dealer has come back with a service plan, knows nothing about Service inclusive.

This is as what I said earlier. Service Inclusive becomes a black Friday special. However, unless you do a lot of miles, I don't think it worth the price now if it's still similar to the price last year.

When I bought the service pack for my F10 in 2016, it's £5xx and cover for 5 years/50k miles. I used it for 3 services plus a brake fluid change in total so well worth the money. But last year for my G31, the black friday price was about £1200 and cover for 5 years/60k miles. Considering first two services only cost about £900 (£350 and £550 for first and second service respectively) and I won't need the third service within 5 years, the price doesn't make sence to me.

Mine is mainly driven on single carriageway A roads.

This is where I want/need to use the high beam assistant. With some twisted A road in the Peak, sometime I find myself in a place where I need to switch off the high beam but none of my hands can reach the stalk. Neither is it safe to move my hand during cornering to reach the stalk. Although there might be a bit delay in switching off, at least I don't need to worry about it.

Just wondering, your car has the visibility package so I guess your headlight can turn with your steering wheel and can turn on/off one of the high beams, right?

Yes, mine has the visibility package so maybe that makes the difference but I don’t know enough about it to say yes or no.

I drove it 15 miles on twisties on Saturday night around midnight, alI can say is I’ve never driven anything that illuminates the road and roadside like that did. They picked up deer several times and a fox that were all just off the road. Met multiple vehicles, including lorries, and was expecting to be flashed because I was really conscious of how bright the lights were but not once.

Hope it’s still going when my car arrives.
I want to get the high beam assist for the discount and see what the service inclusive offers are.
If it’s like last time, it’s 5 year servicing or 60,000 miles for circa £600.
You need to keep your car 4 years or do a lot of miles for it to be worthwhile.

I would love the speed camera, but it isn’t available on g29 for some reason.

Log into your mybmw app and there should be a ConnectedDrive shop.
It may ask you to log in to see what’s available for your car.

They may not be doing service inclusive this year, but if they are it should appear today or at some point this week.
I can’t see it as I don’t have a car registered on mybmw app at the moment.

@Scubaregs, to show the screen in the MyBMW app in Andy's post, open the App (obviously), click the bell icon on the top left of the app. Then all messages including Remote Software Upgrade history is there. If you want to see the detail of remote software upgrade, then open the app and switch car to the Z4 page (if you have more than one BMWs associated with your account, ignore this step if only one car), tap the "CHECK STATUS" or simply tap the car image, then click "SERVICE" tab and the "Remote Software Upgrade" page is at the bottom of that page. If you click in to the page, it will then tell you whether there is any update available for your car and you can configure whether to download automatically and whether download the update only when your phone is connected to wifi.

My car updated about 19 days ago and the software version is "07.2021.50" if I remember correctly.

He said "if it's like last time". I guess it's many years ago (e.g before 2018). My previous F10 was bought in 2016 and at that time, the service inclusive package is £575 for 5 Years/ 50k Miles. Then, sometime in 2017, the service inclusive package change to £575 for 3 Years/30k miles. Some point between 2018-2020 (more towards 2020), BMW stopped doing service inclusive package and starts the pay monthly service plan.

If the current version shown there is 07.2021, then it's already latest and it's been updated without you noticed anything (assuming your car's built date is earlier than June 2021, otherwise, the car come with latest SW from factory).

Interesting, maybe someone else with 20i or 30i can comment on this. Potentially, update is rolled out type by type. M40i in uk type code is HF52. Basically, four characters after the WBA of the full VIN number is the type code.
