Hi, Im considering them as they are a lot cheaper than the coilover upgrade (£300 vs £3000), Ive been told that on the M2 the springs are much harder, even in comfort mode where as the coilovers are actually softer and make the car more of a GT.

So what’s the benefit of lowering the car? I find it low enough in london roads!

Its a combination of looks and change in handling. If your happy with the car as is, no need to change.

Each time I drive out from my working car park, the rubber wind deflector underneath front bumper will scratch the ground so I think the car is low enough for daily use unless it can have the nose raise functionality as on some of the supercars. :tumbleweed: :tumbleweed:

Ive owned some very low cars over the years, the best approach is to drive diagonally. The M40 can be raised 10mm by putting it into comfort mode.

I think you're maybe mistaken, though I don’t have anything to prove to the contrary, but if it does, how?

G29 M40i from factory only has steel spring with adaptive shock absorber suspension instead of air suspension or any mechanism to raise or lower the car. Not sure where you get the information saying the comfort mode can raise the car by 10mm. I'm really happy if you can prove me wrong.

Only thing I can think about 10mm ride height difference is for BMWs other than G29, the M-Sport suspension is usually 10mm lower than SE suspension. However, this is also fixed unless you specify twin axle air suspension which used to be available from 5-series upward.

Haven't looked too much into the G11 but if it has air suspension, then it should have the ability to raise and lower the car. But on G29, I think most of members here are pretty sure it doesn't have such ability from factory.

Yes mistaken.
The g29 doesn’t have suspension adjustment either manually or motorised.
Non M sport suspension sits a little higher I believe.

If you’re referring to driving diagonally over bumps and ramps, then that part is true. By approaching at an angle you are reducing the gradient.
Simple triangle maths…..

The acs coilovers delete the dynamic shocks functionality and only have the same setting for sport/comfort.

With that in mind, I have decided to go for springs and alignment.
