Hold Button

Why have a hold button in the G29? Should it not be on all the time and what is the benefit of turning it off? I find that the Hold On position is pretty well essential for everyday use.......

Caught me out the first few drives as on my 718 Boxster it was automatic. Took me a while to realise I had to switch it on in the G29.
Abstinence is fine, in moderation.

Don’t see the point of it in automatics. The car anyway doesn’t roll down a hill.
The problem I have with it is parking when it kicks in and you want to do small manoeuvres. You have to press the accelerator just enough to disengage it, but not too much you fly into a parked car. Rather have it off.

When I first got my M40i I turned it off, primarily because it annoyed me trying to put the car in the garage. In addition, I could get the same effect at a traffic light by engaging the parking brake.

But at some time more recently I switched to leaving it on. Probably because I'm now more used to it.
