Hi!
I have a 2006 E85 with 67,000 kms on it. I feel vibrations when holding the steering wheel at idle. When I rev it a little, its perfectly fine. I also feel this vibration when I touch the front wheels. All of this during idle. Driving the car at any RPM over 1k, its fine. Could my engine mounts be the issue? Thanks!

I have a 2006 E86 and got the rod bearing shells and engine mounts replaced last year on 78,000 miles.
I hadn't noticed what you described, but the old mounts were definitely well past their best!
The shells didn't look pretty either.
If you have a good BMW specialist hopefully they could tell if the engine mounts were looking tired.

Coupes because stunning!

Does the vibration go away once the car is fully warmed up? If so, could be the VANOS vibrating.

I would say engine mounts and / or engine mount bolts.
I doubt very much the VANOS would cause that unless you've got some serious issues, unless you mean the VANOS causing the engine to run a bit rough in which case that's possible.

I purchased the car in August. I also realized it got new mounts from bimmerworld in 2019...perhaps I just feel more with these mounts...I may replace with OEM mounts in the future

I have aftermarket mounts and yes, they vibrate more, to the point I see that vibration on the headlight cutoff lines. Considering going back to OE
