Newbie Question
Hi
Just bought a 2009 Z4 2.5 si and have been reading through forums and Youtube etc. Glad to be on board.
I am sure this question has been asked before, but when I bought the car it came with no paperwork and I am after the bluetooth passkey code.
Rather than wedge the carpet open in the boot/trunk or undo speakers behind the seat, is there anyway of finding it online with your VIN number?

There are no secret codes, if you read the relevant manual you'll see you can use codes of your choice..

Actually is yours an E85 although you say 2009?
In 2009 there was a 23i 30i and 35i all E89s?

Newbie Question
If you've got a late-registered E85/E86 then I wouldn't bother; the bluetooth on these is old tech and the bluetooth protocol used by recent phones just won't work with it. (Having said that, I think there may be a sticker on the actual bluetooth unit itself - accessed from the boot).
If you've got an E89, then I've no idea...

Newbie Question
Thanks ..... it is an e85 ... on a 2009 plate, but is a 2008 car. I have looked in boot and behind both seats, but can't seem to find any unit. As you say, may not be worth bothering with anyway. Is there an add on that would give up to date bluetooth?

Mine seems to work on my iPhone - phone calls at least. I use it all the time. I do have the ancient factory satnav so not sure if it’s a slightly different set up?Sidewaze Samm wrote: ↑Fri Nov 05, 2021 10:41 am

Newbie Question
Have you looked behind the carpet in the boot? The bulkhead in the boot isn't flat if there is bluetooth installed - it sticks out on the left hand side - look behind there.
I suppose the obvious question is - are you sure there is bluetooth fitted? It was an option, so if you have no small grille on top of the steering column for the microphone, and the drop down lid in the rear centre console doesn't feature a pairing button... then there is no bluetooth.
On a seperate note - I wonder just how many E85s were registered in 2009? Can't be many.

Sorry to disagree Samm but the Bluetooth on my 2007 car works fine with my Android phone which I got last year. Luckily I found the code on some of the paper work that came with the car.Sidewaze Samm wrote: ↑Fri Nov 05, 2021 10:41 am

Maybe there was a change around that time? From experience a late 2005 car worked fine with an old phone, but on upgrading to a new Android phone the car just didn't want to play ball. And I'm struggling to get my 2008 car to even pair with my phone.Roberltd2 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 08, 2021 10:18 pmSorry to disagree Samm but the Bluetooth on my 2007 car works fine with my Android phone which I got last year.
