Managed to leave the window open when it was raining. So soggy carpet and buggered seat but I can’t move the seat back and forwards to remove and dry it out

Tough one. I’ve taken a few apart for parts and I’ve not found a way.

Have you checked fuses? Are both seats dead or just the one where the window was left open?

Check your fuses first- may be simple!
If the forum helped you, why not help the forum back. Thats the Z4 way!

Get a phone underneath the seat there should be a couple of motors locate them using video and play it back , get a hammer , tap the motor and press the button for back forward …. It should spring back into life. I had the same issue after water got in. You will also find your airbag module in is shot too

Also check the connection under the seat. Disconnect the cable and reconnect it.

Dry out everything.

Get the battery checked that it's taking a charge from the alternator.

Also wait for the YAW sensor to die if it's been drowned.
