Auc Sensor Location

Has anyone replaced their AUC Sensor?
Any pointers as to the location?

On my E90 it's easily located but I don't have a clue on the E89.

As you look at the engine bay its on the right hand side under the scuttle deck under the right hand wiper looking from the front of car..
We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…

Thanks guys. I've ordered the sensor but still having difficulty figuring out how to access it.

At (1) below I can see an electrical connector through the vent.
However the manufacturer image as shared above by Big Bad Boris and on realoem shows the location on the left side from the front or right hand side when driving. FYI, my car is a right hand drive

Either way, whether it is located on the left or right, how would I access it?

Do I remove the plastic panel at (2) below?
That would involve removing the wiper arms.

Then, does it unclip or is it bolted down.

Thanks for the assistance!

It’s near 1 marked on your diagram..we’ll at least on a 2012 MY20i UK spec..it’s quite common for TIS to show the majority US/European picture/diagram..

You need to take the windscreen wiper off to get the scuttle deck loose enough to get access to it, if memory serves me

Thanks for this info.
I thought I'd ask first because I have a tendency to eff things up the first time around!

I will record a video when i do the job.

Put it this way..I stripped down the car based on what TIS said..zippo sensor..

I stripped the other side down, voila an AUC sensor

Whilst you have that panel off get some mesh to put over the cabin air intake.
I did as when you pull out the pollen filter load of seeds and twigs fell out.
Another bit of rubbish design.

I purchased the sensor from lllparts.co.uk.

I have not installed it yet.
Probably do it in the spring time.
