Sounds like a new Usher song?
Right, I've tracked the fault of my non operational drivers window and can trace 12v to the window motor. Tick!
There is no movement of the motor at all- so am I to presume the mech is ok and the motor is faulty?
What do you folks advise I do next? Remove the motor (assume I can split off from the window mech) and get it on the bench?

Well if there's no noise it points to the motor being seized.
If there's noise then the motor is running and a gear inside is stripped.
Will the motor come away from the 'gearbox' part?
Also, did your spare door come with everything still in it?
If so, you could slave that across maybe, just to be sure before you take yours apart?

Door not here- I told him I'd pop over and get it as I think i need to cherry pick a few parts
I think i'll try to split the motor off the mech and get it tested

So did the motor seize or the gearbox do you think?
Looks like heat marks and wear on the end of the motor spindle. Wonder if that bearing started it off?

Will test new motor on the mech before I let it loose- need to figure out the root cause which i suspect may be in the mechanism?
