Servicing Costs

I see that BMW do a service plan for my G29 at £25 a month. Is this worth doing?

I enquired about this with my local dealer. It seems to be a bit of an "estimate", ie there may or may not be enough in the pot to pay for the Service and any work requiring doing at the time the work is done, though they did say they would try and tailor the payments based on expected mileage etc.

The reason I didn't go for it was simple, if you sell your car you can transfer the service plan, but only onto another car in the VAG group, otherwise they will charge you a £50 "admin fee" to return any unused money in the plan.

I've simply opened an internet account with the ATOM bank and put £40 into it when I get paid each month. Had it not been for the £50 penalty, I would have taken the service plan.

They did it last year. 5 year plan (60,000 miles)was just over £600 and it stays with the car if you sell it.
If you plan on keeping the car for at least 2 services then it is very much worth while, however if you do a lot of miles and actually require 3 services then it’s even better value.

Mmmm, the way the service person explained it to me on the phone made it sound more like a fund, there was no guarantee that it would pay x amount of services, be dependant on service type/mileage/usage etc. Perhaps picked them up wrong as for me the 5 year/60,000 miles for circa £600 would be a no brainer.

Where would I find this offer when they release it?

So if you log in to connected drive on the app or web browser you can purchase services. Look for service inclusive.
It should be around £900.
The £25 a month the dealer is offering isn’t the same as service inclusive.

Now if BMW do the Black Friday discount then it drops by 30%. You might as well wait a month and see if they do.

Just looked online and it appears they aren’t offering service inclusive anymore. :(
