Think I need to book myself in somewhere quiet and understanding!
Somehow the drive didn't quite seem full enough and with the 2.2i nearly wrapped up for what I wanted to do with it, and Vall failing to report any new squeaks in hers for at least a week, I went and found something to fit in the gap!
Nice little 3.0i to compete the set.
Needs the usual Disa, vanos, suspension etc, plus a few bits (scuttle panel, front bumper not properly fitted on the left, wheels need a refurb, drivers door drops a little, passenger door won't open from the outside.)
On the plus side it seems to have all the bells and whistles plus someone has been adding aux cables, bluetooth etc, which I need to get to grips with.
So watch out for even more wanted ads going in shortly.
Left to right: 2.2i (Manual), 2.5i (auto), 3.0i (auto)
Oh and before the 'monochrome' jibes start, I left the VO E89 in the garage.

PS. It's only today that I've realised the autos have a much wider opening in the lower grille than the manuals do.

Cheers.
I had to move fast before Stuart (Bigwinn) cornered the market.
I don't move at quite his pace so I'm aiming for the Spring to have it sorted, not next week like he would!

Love that 3.0 been watching it for ages and I think that will keep you busy for a bit!
More WFH needed I think!

Indeed it is.
Will soon be picking your brains on how to fix a dropping door.

Thank you.
It needs a few more cosmetics on this one.
Promised Vall I would wrap up the 2.2 first, but today while she was out I had a little foray into Ebay for the freeleeta.

Come on Martin. You know you can’t spare the time to be working on that 3.0i.

You are a glutton for punishment. But I’m sure someone will be pleased and think all your efforts worthwhile.enuff_zed wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 7:50 amThat is very true.

Almost got the motor moved. Puppy patrol interrupted things for a while.IRD wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 11:22 amYou are a glutton for punishment. But I’m sure someone will be pleased and think all your efforts worthwhile.
Someone has been there before.
Casing wrapped up in 3 miles of insulation tape, top to bottom, not round the middle. Finally got through all that to find a shiny new motor and new, bone dry, insulation.

Hi mate, long time no hear, which is silly as you're 5 minutes walk from me!Acestumacher wrote: ↑Thu Nov 11, 2021 11:53 pm 3 Martin? that's just being greedy!!!, very nice seeing them all lined up!, must admit I'm getting that Z4 feeling again!
Can't see you getting the grey one back tbh, unless Vall decides she likes this 3.0 instead.
Picking up yours and doing all the tinkering gave me the bug again and now I just keep picking up more!
If you do decide to get back into them then I'm more than happy to lend a hand if needed.
