Z4 G29 Delivery Delays
Reading this thread with interest.
I’ve just ordered a new BMW through Tony Lewis (TRL deals) but also investigated a new Macan. Immediately told by Porsche it would be minimum 12 months. Sod that.
Apparently my car is being built in December for mid-Jan at the dealer. Fully expecting some slippage but it will be interesting to see how much given the volume of cars that TRL push through. First impressions of Tony have been very favourable. Very quick response, deal offered that nobody else could get close to.

Been watching Porsche too. It's more like 18-24(+) months at the moment.original guvnor wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 7:47 am Reading this thread with interest.

I follow TRL on insta - not many Z4s coming out - but then again, not many people order them. Hope you have a better time of it than me. BMW's biggest problem seem to be with the 1s and 2s. There's not a great deal of info about the Z4 deliveries out there from as far as I can see. There has been an influx of Z4s to dealers over the late summer (they are on autotrader) but they seem to be hanging around. Missed the peak season I reckon.

Hi Russ - I’m so sorry to read the experience you’ve had. I hope you enjoy the A110. I’m sure you will and that this will be soon be a distant memory.
From what I can gather 128ti’s are one of the worst affected but I’m not surprised because there’s a lot of bespoke elements to that car inside and out that differ from the other 1-series cars.
So far very impressed with Tony.

Is that a pre-existing slot Tony had? That's some rapid turn around!

It was his first available slot Russ. He did say that BMW are producing less cars in Q4 22. Like I said earlier, let’s see if they meet that date. There seems to be a mixed bag of experiences out there and it seems a bit of a lottery but from what I can gather, 128ti’s and X3M40i or X3M40d have been some of the worst affected. I suspect M135i’s might be ok because BMW have just updated the model with some quite significant changes to the chassis/suspension and so may have been slowing production down on them earlier in the year to account for the changes. It’s not an LCI - I think that comes in 2023/24.

there you go Russ,
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-detail ... new&page=1
sell the black alloys and buy:
https://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/bmw_a ... wheel_6324
you'd have something fairly unique with the black mirrors, grille and black roll-over hoops. Sell the black wheels on eBay to pay for the cerium grey.

buys it off spec from the site and as the description is incorrect on the wheels i reckon the dealer would honour the description and swap the wheels anyhow!

It's because it can more readily put the power down across all 4 wheels compared to the rwd z4 which doesn't have the engine weight over the driving wheels. In optimum driving conditions, the Z4 will be equally as fast (faster in the US spec). Top end, the B58 has it no problem.F1SpaceMonkey wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 5:38 pm All F40 M135i are Xdrive but front wheel drive bias and 80% of the time. great car. its what i came out out to the Z4 M40i and would say the M135i feels more rapid 0-50mph
