Z4 G29 Delivery Delays

On my order (not a BMW), they just keep saying that I can cancel (especially as I had arranged a big discount in August when I ordered). No goodies or anything for that matter.

No build date either, not even approx.

This is the thing - the dealers are in a win, win situation. If you cancel, they'll have lost nothing because they can then sell on a car (when it does arrive) at well above list price.

I doubt there's any point - as above.

It just so happens my experience with this garage has been terrible. This isn't making me feel any better about the BMW experience. I've never had a good one. (Yes, wrong number plates fitted, damaged cars whilst in for service, I also had a BMW that caught fire too with all that malarky. I just seem to never have a good BMW experience).

The cars being with other owners before me... It'll no doubt be down to "depends upon the allocated slots etc".

Also I'd feel a bit awful given the fact that it's what's happening in Ukraine that is likely the culprit.

Gutted. Gutted. Gutted. And somewhat I know I said that I was somewhat relaxed about it all... but I didn't expect a near on years delivery day time - neither was that expectation set in the slightest.

So yeah, can confirm that white is definitely the slowest colour. Especially when it comes to delivery time.

This is just so rubbish, so sorry you are continually being delayed.

Hi Russ
I thought my delays were bad enough, ordered July 19th collected March 29th, so 8.5 months, but close on a year is tough. I had the same thoughts, cars ordered after mine seemed to be coming through quicker, I guess it depends on supply of parts these days.
It will be worth the wait though....

Well, I've just seen on a news program that due to the Shanghai Covid look down, this being their main port for containers, that this will cause delays as bad as 2 years ago. I hope for your sake BMW parts don't go through there.

Looking forward to the next email stating further delay is due on the 28th of the month... like clockwork. Can't wait!

i've given up. Pretty sure the dealer has sold my car/build slot for better commission and didn't want to honour the 2021 deal we agreed and signed finance papers on. The interest rate BMW finance now offer is no where near the 2021 figure. So, gone past wanting the car. 10 months and no contact other than when i email and i get another fib.

I ordered a new Apple Mac studio back in April (all the components are coming from that part of the world), so the base unit /mouse/keyboard have arrived and are sitting in their unopened sealed boxes waiting for the new studio display to arrive (they are built in Shanghai). I understand that the world has changed, so I'm patiently waiting for it to arrive, but what I didn't realise is that the warranty has been ticking away on the items that have arrived, so I've potentially lost 4/8 weeks warranty and Apple aren't being flexible or accommodating when I approached them about it.

What have they been telling you? 10 months is getting on somewhat.

The weather is really grinding my gears. Why do I feel like if I do get the car, it’ll be snowing.

I was almost ready last year to sell my 35is and place an order for an M40i - I just felt a little bit uneasy about a genuine availability of a car.

These tales of woe seem to confirm my decision somehow.
