Hello, that’s fine..I assume you won’t need hotel accommodation / Saturday night meal?
We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…

Not sure at the moment, if I just do the Sunday then I’ll meet you at the start point but I may well do the Saturday as well and stay over but I’m not sure yet.

OI no worries, there’ll be an update on hotels soon so you can respond as you see fit then.

Hello Nanu,

Thank you ….

Any recommendations for maybe 10-14 people are welcome ..

CherryM who is co-organising lives nearer to the hooning area and we’ve sampled some places but additional inputs very welcome…

Hopefully you can join us for lunch on that day
My fav for lunch up that way is the Cook & Barker, think they do rooms also. https://cookandbarkerinn.co.uk/

Another and less well known spot on a different part of the drive is The Rat Inn, Good lunch and superb views from the garden. https://www.theratinn.com/

Following one of my hostelry recommendations and very much in the interests of market research, my good lady wife and I decided today to check if the Cook & Barker pub was still up to scratch and worthy of consideration as a potential lunch stop. It did mean forcing ourselves to drive for almost an hour in the sunshine to the venue and parting with £45 for two courses, a drink each and tip, but for the potential benefit of those that may go after we persevered. We didn't book and even though it was a Tuesday lunchtime, the restaurant was full and we only just managed to get a table in the bar.

Lobster bisque and Venison Casserole was tested and passed with flying colours. Parfait followed by Thai Cod & salmon fish cakes (Very spicy) was also tested which resulted in clean plates.

Worth a second opinion by anyone who just happens to be passing but FYI photo of lunch menu which is not on the website attached.

Blimey.....The Rat. Used to go there now & again when at Uni (40 years ago). Doesn't look to have changed much and it was awesome then. Wish I was a bit closer - I'd love to join for this trip but sadly a bit too far :(

So the situation for this run re hotel rooms is

    1 B21 Yellow E89 Peter - 2 nights
    2 jamesditchy Silver E85 Jay - 2 nights
3 Argyll Andy Blue G29 Andy MacD - 2 nights
    4 cerbera Silver E89 Nick - 2 nights
    5 stevespg Black E89 Steve - 2 nights
    6 Lynchy Red E85M Ed - TBC
7 CherryM Silver E89 Mike - no hotel
8 MefieEcosse Silver Alpina, Richie - 2 nights

ATM out of the 8 rooms booked, 6 confirmed taken, Ed a possibility for 1 night so one room definitely availability for both nights under our bookings

Any errors in above let me know
