One more question if you don't mind...

have these modules that you swapped been used modules or new modules?

the reason I ask is because I have read a post where the guy installed a brand new top control module and it did not work so he had to have it encoded then it worked, so he was saying that maybe it's possible that a used one would already be coded but a new one not...

hope that makes sense

thanks in advance

Have you tried asking 'Umfaan' on here?
He's breaking a 2.2 so maybe has a good used one?
HQ of 'Norfolk Zed Rescue'.
Always happy to help if I can.

If the forum helped you, why not help the forum back. Thats the Z4 way!

I ended up biting the bullet and ordered an OEM module, just waiting for it to arrive sometime next week then I will plug it in to see if it works right out of the box, hopefully it will, if not I have to bring it in to the stealer Or a local garage that can code it, if in fact that is what is required...

I've been spending the day searching and just can't seem to find a definitive answer on whether or not a brand new convertible top module needs to be coded.

If anybody has the definitive answer to this or know where I can find out for sure, please let me know... thanks
