Hey everyone, I have a question I hope someone can help me with,
My soft top will not go up and the light is just flashing so I did a scan and I got the following error code: "43 Drive, cowl panel, open circuit" it also shows me the part required as being part # 6936801, so after doing some research online I have found that the part looks like the image below
Does anyone here know where the part is located in my Z4, I think it might be behind one of the the subwoofer panels but I'm not 100% sure, I appreciate any insight as I would like to replace the part myself
Thanks in advance

You may have to code it.

Are you sure it is not a broken wire in the roof that is causing the error ? It seems to be a common problem on older cars.

thanks a lot very much appreciate it
so when you say I may have to code it, is this something I can do or is it a dealer thing?
Any idea where I can find out for sure whether it has to be coded or whether it is plug and play?

Did you note the other comment regarding broken wires?
May want to check those first before you dive into more expensive stuff.
Plenty of reading on the forum about these issues.

I'm not sure it did - it said open circuit, which a wiring fault could cause.

The forum is awash with roof issues, a lot of which are wiring faults.
I'd suggest taking a while to search for ideas and maybe contact a few who have had the issue and can advise you better.
Bigwinn (Stuart) recently wrote a 'how-to' on fixing the wires in his.
Number 5 is a roof aficionado and may be able to help too.
