Dumb folding mirrors question

Post by jamesgarbett » Sun Oct 10, 2021 8:30 am

Why does my passenger side mirror fold in more than driver's side?
Passenger side pretty much parallel with side of car when folded
Driver's side sticks out a bit
Both mirrors perfect when in unfolded position

I asked the same thing:

Consensus seems to be that the auto mirrors are the ones that don’t fold symmetrically, and it’s to do with the motors in them.
Current: Still thinking...

isnt it something to do with them folding in a certain amount of equal distance (lets say for arguments sake 100mm of travel) but because they are set in different positions on their axis then they then look uneven when folded in
if its got tits or tyres..its trouble :D

They passenger side one on my 3 Series also folds flatter than the driver's side - it must be a BMW "feature"!
Coupes because stunning!
