Here's a list of parts that might be useful for the DCT service:

I'll get round to that over the winter..

Since reading this I've been paying attention to noise at motorway speeds, because this wasn't something that I thought rang true with my car. When cruising at 60-80 in mine, all you can hear is wind and tyres - the exhaust only becomes audible when you put your foot down or reach 3,000 revs. I wonder if someone has previously done the gold tee mod on your exhaust and the valve is constantly open? I'm pretty sure that in mine the valve is closed until you hit 3,000 revs which is 90mph in 7th.
Hi depends where you live..round here we are constantly going up slight inclines so say at 50-60 you are using a bit of throttle and low revs..that’s when it really drones..tiglon wrote: ↑Sat Oct 16, 2021 11:15 amSince reading this I've been paying attention to noise at motorway speeds, because this wasn't something that I thought rang true with my car. Oh dear..looks like I’m in for more droning…R.E92 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 16, 2021 11:32 am The 35is exhaust is great on a stock car but it becomes a pain when you start to mod. It's the same problem with the 335i coupe.
If you add catless downpipes to the 35is it drones because of the lack of silencing. My 35i is fine, no drone at any RPM but my 335i has the louder BMW exhaust with it being the coupe and it'll drone at 3k rpm with the catless downpipes.
OK thnx..so on the 35 the exhaust flap is closed during start-up? On the N20 its the opposite..
I used to be a project/ program manager in previous lives..in fact was the CEO of a Program Management software company 2000-2004…
It is scrum master now old fogies.....
That's a very ambitious work order. Are you going to try reuse existing fixings and hardware or have you ordered fresh parts for that?
Hi…yes it’s a lot of work although logically there are some work threads which should allow an efficient execution of the program.R.E92 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 2:18 pmThat's a very ambitious work order. The idea is to take any 2.0 specific mods off your old yellow Z4 and put it on the orange Z4, then transfer any upgrades that'll fit the new yellow 3.0 Z4 and use the old 3.0 parts on the orange 2.0 and then return the old yellow one to stock before sale?
