Yes I did - I moved into sales years ago so gave up on the project work as it was hard graft trying to round up the farm animals to go into one directionStevo1987 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 8:48 pmNo, it is 'agile'. Get with it man…I don’t do Valencia Orange..it belongs to PeeblesZ4..
We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…

So on the way down…
Yesterday discovered that somehow the previous owner had managed to damage the electronic parking brake motor on one of the calipers..the cover is cracked and rusty water is coming out of it..fortunately the motor is available from several non OE suppliers…
BMW price around £500 … non OE version less than £100
This morning had a call saying that both front adaptive dampers are leaking..so if you were going to replace them around £600 each…
Hopefully we’ve bottomed out the issues..

The chap working on transfering all the parts around has proved to be a little gem, he's very competent and can put his hands to cutting n shutting if required.
So I'm going to get him to fit the new genuine BMW Index 12 injectors which were the last and supposedly the best injectors for the N54.
Each injector has two 3 number codes which need to programmed into the DME to compensate for individual fuel flows..
You need a slide hammer special tool to pull the old injectors out, so got one of those.
The end nozzle is covered with a metal cover which is removed immediately prior to fitting to protect the seal.
Also an upmarket crush washer goes on the end of the injector..those should arrive tommorow.
Picture shows a N20 injector which is 4-6 times cheaper and only has one 3 digit code. Interestingly 4 of these all had the same codes, whilst the N54 injectors had totally random codes..

So final part of next stage power upgrade using MHD with stage 2+ maps for 98 octane, requires larger intercooler and de-cat downpipes.
So VSRF drainpipes going on plus old Wagner EVO intercooler from my previous project.
Final part are new coils, one old coil packed up a few weeks ago at 52,000 so 6 new babies are going on.
Picture shows a N20 version as well, look physically very similar.
Apparently fitting B58 coils is the current dodge for those going past the 600 bhp mark!
MHD predicts upto around 420 BHP and 650nm for stage 2+, they predicted upto 390 BHP /600nm..mine did 390 BHP and 560nm..on 98 octane, .there numbers are predicated on 102 octane..

Finally for this week, the 437M wheels in satin black arrived..have to say they look very very good..
Waiting (just about) for the reviews of the new Continetal Sports Contact 7 to come out, as Conti are my preferred brand..
With over 7,000 miles of hooning scheduled for 2022 I'm trying to be a good boy and burn off the GY Assy 5s on the Zito 935s before I switch across..

Little bit of an update on the injectors and their costs..
This article covers the fact that BMW warranty Index 12 injectors had a different part number to 'normal' purchases,,
https://blog.fcpeuro.com/difference-bet ... 3538616079
Coincidentally it turns out of the 6 I bought 3 each came from the two sources!!

Bit of advice on the leaky front adaptive dampers, you can buy remanufactured ones from Poland for about £250 a corner, but they work on an exchange program. This has been on my radar for a while in case it comes up as being required.

A stainless steel cable tie might be a good idea for this so there is a mechanical bond, and then glue it in place too help with vibration.

Hello, yes saw these guys before, wonder why they only do front 35is suspenders?Beeacon wrote: ↑Wed Nov 03, 2021 3:29 pm Bit of advice on the leaky front adaptive dampers, you can buy remanufactured ones from Poland for about £250 a corner, but they work on an exchange program. Alledgedley there are some folks in Notts that can re-furb them so now they are off, will investigate that, prior to selling them as 'good to go' for those you stick with 35is adapative suspension.
