2006 E85 Z4 Roadster 3.0Si Black 59k miles
Hi all. I'm selling my 2006 E85 Z4 Roadster 3.0Si in Black with only 59k miles.
The car was purchased via this forum in June 2019:
viewtopic.php?f=41&t=115532&p=1664205#p1664205
I have only done 2k miles in the last two years, due to Covid and as it's my second car (my daily is a F30 335d). The car lives in a dry garage on a trickle charger under a breathable cover, only coming out on dry days in the spring and summer. I am only selling as due to hybrid working my commuting has dropped by more than half so I have an opportunity to sell both cars and scratch the M-car itch and get an M4. My intention was to keep the Z4 "forever" to run alongside the inevitable electric cars of the future, however I just need to give a petrol M-car a try and will need the space in the garage.
Spec
3.0Si – M-Sport – Manual – Roadster.
56 Plate Face lift
Sapphire Black
Red Leather interior with piano black trim.
M-Sport Wheel
M-Sport short gear knob
Electric Memory Sport Seats
Optional Stereo with the two subs behind the seats.
6 Disc DC changer
Cruise Control (retro fitted)
Xeon headlights with Day breaker higher power bulbs.
Rear parking sensors
108 Wheels – 1 has some curb damage. Tyres are Avon ZZ5 (not RF) with loads of tread all round.
Set up with Carly, Auto locking, remove roof operation, 3 flash indicators etc.
Cup holders.
Mods completed by previous owner:
108 wheels refurbed at First Aid wheels 2 years ago.
Scorpion Stainless Steel Exhaust.
K&N Panel Filter
M-Tec grooved and cross drilled discs all around – Mintex pads.
BC Racing coil over kit – Hunter aligned afterwards.
New Xeon bulbs.
Various bushes and front lower arms and lollipops.
Stubby aerial.
In my ownership the car has had:
Two MOTs (both passed without any issues).
Minor Service at local garage
New rear Avon ZZ5 tyres (approx 1k mile use)
New third brake light (smoked)
Brake fluid change by local garage.
Aircon recharge this July (now nice and cold).
Spacers fitted (15mm rear and 12mm front from memory)
Coilover suspension completely realigned following fitting of spacers by local specialist, including corner weighting. Rear ride height was actually increased slightly which has softened the ride and improved traction.
The bad bits
For a 15 year old car it's in very good condition, however there are a number of points i want buyers to be aware of, which are factored into the price. All listed were there when i purchased the car (but didn't put me off buying) and I had intended to address, however was delayed due to Covid and now will leave as is as selling. I have tried to capture in the photos.
> 1 alloy wheel lightly curbed (touched up with matching paint to prevent corrosion)
> Small scuff on both side skirts.
> Front bumper normal stone chips for black car of this age/mileage.
> Piano trim around light switch cracked.
> Small area of raised paintwork on rear wing. I believe this is caused by a stone chip. It has not got worse in last two years whilst garaged.
Other details
The car comes with two original keys, and the original service book and manuals.
The car is located in Uckfield (East Sussex).
Test drives with proof of adequate insurance only, with me in the passenger seat.
The care drives very nicely especially with the Scorpion exhaust, coilover suspension and non-RFT tyres.
I treat all my cars with mechanical sympathy, so it's never thrashed and always warmed up.
Price
The car is priced at £7750 no offers for this forum.
For the observant this is the same as when i purchased the car. Given the market has improved significantly in the last two years, I paid the full asking price for the car when i purchased (as the care was well priced and attracted lots of attention), the car is in the same condition with only 2k more on the clock, I feel this is a fair price. I will be leaving the car on this forum for a few weeks and if the car doesn't sell here I will place on AT/PH at closer to £9k, or wait until spring.

Seems like a real bargain for a rare and low mileage 3.0Si.
Will the purchaser be changing their name from true-blue to true-black by any chance?

It was always going to be ‘when’ not ‘if’ and,
For me, the character of these makes them more of an experience than the newer cars
