Boot going up and down.

Post by Riche89 » Thu Sep 23, 2021 11:02 am

Hi I've got the first problem with my 35i.
When I close the boot it normally gets sucked down and it's closed but now it sucks down then comes back up a bit then goes down and cycles between trying to pull it down and releasing it anyone have any idea what's happening because it's doing it it continuously until I open the boot whether the ignition is on or not.
Thanks in advance Rich

Not sure if it explains how to resolve it, but it may help

Had a few similar problems with my roof and went back to Sytners on 3 occasions to get sorted. Last time they replaced the salmon relays in the boot. Very easy to do (sytners did mine) bur before I took it in took them out and looked at date on them they were both 2009 manufacture(Dec 2009 35i). No problems since. So just pull them out check dates and general advise is to replace about sometime after 5years.
Styners did mine FOC but think relays are relatively cheap(get the BMW ones) So if old not an expensive first thing to do -hope you get t sorted.

No problem. The information on how to fix most issues is on here, it's just not easy finding it sometimes
