Cat problems - sleeping and scratching the top

Post by zriha » Wed Sep 22, 2021 2:03 pm

So, how do I deal in civilize manner, with a fat f**k of a cat that sleeps on my Z4 (E85) roof, and it scratch it already?
Buying a dog and tie him on the Z4 is not an option.

How do you deal with that?

Try a squirt of lemon juice now and then. Cats don’t like citrus.

How about a layer of chicken wire laid across the roof and wired into the mains?

Cat problems - sleeping and scratching the top

Well gents, thanks for constructive suggestions, I like shotgun a lot, but I am certain that I will make some holes on my soft top. :D

I found in Pet shop some kind of dog/cat repellent that you spray it, and I will test it. My car is 90% under cover, but when I am using it, it is on the open, perfect for that big ass cat :D

Cat problems - sleeping and scratching the top

I used to get this when I parked the Z3 under the car port at night. The cats would use the top as a nice bed when it rained. The vermin (sorry I'm not a cat lover as they $h*t all over the garden as well) would scratch the rear pastic screen and leave fur embedded in the hood after using it as a scratching base. I resorted to a sonic repeller from Wilkos that seemed to dissuade them.

Orange peel spray is supposed to help as well or lion dung if you have any to hand

Cat problems - sleeping and scratching the top

Post by Old-Duckman » Thu Sep 23, 2021 12:07 am

I had a male cat hanging out on my front door mat when I was at work, spraying his nasty musk smell. Citrus (I used grapefruit essential oil mixed with water and a drop of dish soap) sprayed it on the door mat and it did the job.

The only thing about the shotgun is that if it is a child's pet I would never want to hurt the little one by killing his or her beloved pet...!! If you can ensure that it is a stray cat, which I don't know how you would be able to do that...then "execution" would surely be in order!!

Hahahahaha, yeah, we have, but this cat is massive! :D
Gents, I bought something like this:

5306572.jpg (47.48 KiB) Viewed 401 times
And it did the trick during the night. I sprayed it overnight and it's all good, I will repeat this all week, and see the results.

Personally, I don't like cats, well, I don't like cats that are not properly trained, we have a cat in our apartment building, and it is trained and often it is at our place, but this one is not from our neighbourhood, a new cat.. and outside.
