Supersprint manifold

Post by Gnipper » Mon Sep 20, 2021 5:31 pm

Hi guys
Really hoping someone can help

I recently had my M coupe at CPC engineering for Phil to carry out a host of work - part of which was getting my new supersprint stepped manifold fitted part number 789801 v2

When Phil put engine back in the steering column wouldn’t clear part of the manifold, so VERY reluctantly he had to reinstall the old ones ( at a higher cost to me )

Has anyone had these fitted to a RHD Z4M? When I ordered them they were showing as fitting on a RHD but mine do not fit

I so want them fitted but have hit a road block

Might be worth dropping 'GT Spec' a PM, see if he had any issues. Those things are  , bloody expensive though. Hope you get it sorted.

This shows the repair effected to ensure fit. Perhaps you may have to consider lowering the engine / engine mounts. Whatever, I would be getting in touch with the supplier, perhaps they can offer a solution? :)

I see what you mean, thanks

Yes I’ve dropped supersprint an email and am awaiting a reply

Does anyone know of a specialist that can tackle a cut and weld and installation of a v2 manifold

It’s not something I have the tools or space to do

I didn't think any of the headers fitted the rhd Zs.

Personally I'd return it, I wouldn't be chopping up a new manifold that expensive. Get your money back and put it towards and airbox or cams, it'll make more difference anyway?

Yes I do agree - However I’ve already got evolve carbon box and schrick 280/272s with DLC followers
I’m in the pursuit of more power and was hoping this would satisfy my craving :D

Kind of agree, I think I'd cry if someone chopped into those headers like the one in the linked post  Hopefully they can find a way to make them fit without having to alter them.....have a feeling maybe Supersprint aren't aware of the differences between the M3 and Z4 and might just say return them and stop listing them for the Z4.

If it's power you're after though, the Supercharger group buy that's happening would seem like a good shout...

Nice

I don't think headers unlock that much on our UK cars but if your chasing it on an N/A build I fully get it 8)

I'd be tempted to get one made somewhere proper, it won't be cheap but at least you'll know you've got even gas flow on all 6 cylinders rather than 2 potentially iffy runners after the mod.

You could look at the aftermarket itbs too, again, I don't think they are worth much but definitely won't hurt with the cams top end

I’ve always been NA I just adore the noise with the box and these cams- can’t ever see myself going down FI route

I hear exactly what you are saying, pointless fitting it in some regards if it won’t fit as it should

Tempted to ask supersprint to swap it for a set of their 100 cel race cats instead

Same here... N/A all day long

I run supersprint decats, race cats don't seem to last very long from my experience, I don't even bother anymore...

Fair enough, and I agree! I think Status Gruppe do headers for the M3, not sure if they will fit but imagine they'll have the same issues.

I remember that slightly infamous video of the E46 M3 on YouTube supposedly with a decat and headers sounding like an F1 car....always wanted that sound after that

The bit that worries me about the supersprint sports cats is they are EVEN more expensive than the manifold

SIGH lol, this car has a way of parting me with my hard earned cash

NA all day long
