Noise rooftop closed, behind passenger protection arch

Hi,

I have an noise, of something not mechanic, that only happens with roof closed, its around area behind passenger arch, and i've tried with the net out, pressing with my hand everywhere , and when a little change in a perfect surface, it does not need to be a hole in the street, it makes noise like something is not tidely secure..., and its driving me crazy (so every chance i have i open the roof :) )

I have all the rubbers with Gummy Pfledge, and that's the only thing i've done to the roof in addition with changing the orange relays.

Everywhere i push (outside and inside), seems solid and don't make any noise. I know its something hard to give some opinion, but maybe someone had a similar "crazy" noise, and can give some tips.

Thank you

With mine it was loose clips /broken trim under the seat belt covers on the pax side predominately..

Reseating them and some mastic fixed it..

No noise roof down dreadful scratching sound roof up..

The roof can generate 'n' different noises where 'n' is a large integer

I believe, and that can be a nightmare..... in addition i have to ear my wife complaining, "why didn't you bought a new car"?
I'm imagining myself inside the trunk to check if the noise comes from "inside", since i'm 6 foot tall, i don't see that happening

Just a thought could put wife in the Boot to problems solved. Determine noise and silence wife mentioning buying new car!!!! But then again wife noise from Boot may override your noise detective work?? :o

If it sounds like a plastic sandwich box being tapped, then some felt on wedge or very thin rubber needed here:

That worked, for that annoying and crazy. Its not easy to find thin rubebr that glues
Now its a diferente car :)

Thank you

I used some sticky backed rubber pads from Wilko store for boot lid. The triangle bit is tricky needs just thin felt otherwise will get jammed.

For me the issue I get is that sometimes the roof goes slightly out of alignment which causes some rattling. The solution is to stop the roof from retracting when the hardtop is right up on its 'legs' (i.e. at it's highest point in the cycle) and then get out and ever so slightly tweak its position so that is is aligned squarely over the car, then close.

The other issue I have had is the plastic B pillar trim rattling against the roof mechanism.

Ta!!
