Think you get it on all z4s not just the new'uns

Never had that problem with my previous 2 Z4s, maybe 3rd time unlucky !!!!

Can't say that I have a new Z4 or that mine gets wet much.

I don't know about the new G29 models, but I haven't had an issue like you describe with any of my E86s.

Cant say I’ve noticed this at all.

I used to have my car outside all year long, I cant say I have noticed that.
With the snow in the winter however that's another story, the second you open the door you get it all on your seat if you don't clean the car first

It happened to me once when I left my car on driveway. Was quite surprised to open the door and see water flooding out, the same issue on both sides. My driveway is a bit uphill, so maybe water was stored due to this. Front was higher.

I used to get a soaking on my E89s after rain but haven’t noticed it on the G29.

I can confirm, that it happens when car is parked nose up. There's no way for water to get to drain holes and it stays in the door frame. My Z4 moved out from garage permanently, so I have to remember to park it nose down, to avoid splashing my shoes after the rain.
