Any experiences of this product? I was thinking of trying it when my new alloys land but not sure if I'm just as well sticking to 3 coats of collinite 845 which I've already ordered in anticipation. Maybe even sealing with the poorboys first and then collinite over the top?
Not sure if thats overkill
Opinions appreciated

I use the Poorboys stuff and it works well for me.
I put two coats on and the dust washes right off.
Top it up every autumn, or whenever the wheels come off.

Carbon Collective Platinum Wheels for me. Lasts a couple of years and hardens the alloys.

Have a consider of the Gtec C5 stuff. I found the poorboys didnt last all that long

I'd guess the longevity would be more affected by usage and frequency of washing.
Mine is a weekend toy so maybe that's why the Poorboys basically lasts a year after two coats for me?

Poorboys does seem to get mixed reviews, I guess as Enuff says it could come down to how often you wash and also what you use, i do tend to wash weekly through the summer so was looking for longevity.. All this sealant or wax business has turned my thinking.. Always was a wax guy but these days just want the best product for ease of use/longevity

I just mentioned to someone today that the C5 stuff is the best stuff I’ve encountered for alloys. You need the bigger bottle for 19’s

Expensive, yes but functionality, top notch

For what it is worth, there is no difference between C5 and C1, just the quantity in the bottles.

Wow those little pots of sealant are dear, looks like I'd have to part with around 45 quid to do my 19s properly :o think I'll probably stick with the collinite seeings that's already paid for :D

I think I’ve got a pot of the poorboys in the garage somewhere.... from memory, it smells lovely and is easy to use, but I’m not convinced it’s much more than a nice smelling wax with a label saying it’s for wheels

I did a set of 108’s and my latest set of 437M’s with one 30ml bottle of C5, it goes quite a long way on a relatively simple wheel design, but I guess more spokes would see it used up more quickly.

Buy a pack of lint free make up remover pads for application, they’re exactly the same as the ‘pads’ included in the pack but cost pennies by comparison. What’s included in the in the pack isn’t enough.

That was front and back of both sets of wheels

I was a little under whelmed with the Pooboys so I have switched to Gyeon Q2 Rim Coating and I am am delighted with it.

£20 - works the same as the Gtec C5. https://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/carbon-c ... 4DEALw_wcB

With the wheels you're choosing, these type of products mean the 'nooks and crannies' are cleaned with a standard alloy cleaner and a jet wash. No need for brushes etc..

yes i found that out, deffo for me didn't cover as much as it claimed. Also get more of the little pads.

couldnt comment on the longevity of it or poor boys. car has done <100 miles in the last 2 months and I cant remember the poorboys. it did work when i tried it but was a right PITA to get off the 108 nuts.
