Carly Error 000048

Post by StuCracker » Tue Mar 02, 2021 11:30 am

Has anyone came across this error when scanning for errors?

Carly returns a '000048' code under the category of 'Central Chassis Electronics' and this description
'WI1 line short-circuit to U-batt or Wiper Relay 1 / Interior light: line break'

My wipers function correctly and interior lights are fine, I had LED's fitted to the interior but have reverted to stock bulbs but the error returns
after being cleared.

Any help appreciated

Ditto. Had this error and no idea what functionality it reduces. Been there for a few years now.

Wipers still work, interior lights are all OK!

Apologies for bumping an old thread but I was coding a few things with Carly yesterday and this exact error popped up with me too. Wipers and aircon all working fine so not sure what this one is all about, any thoughts? I've cleared the error with Carly so will check again in a few days in case its just a random blip.

Bumping again. 😀

I’ve got this same code on Carly and can’t seem to find out what it relates to. Everything seemingly fine, no error lights.

@Tango22 did you discover anymore about it?
Many thanks.

Try a different scanner and see what comes up. I think Carley is a poor diagnostic tool from what I’ve seen.

Do you have LED interior lights? I think that might be what triggered the error message for me. I converted all of my interior lights bulbs to LED's.

Yes. Previous owner has replaced them all with LED’s. I was wondering if that was it. 👍🏼
Thank you.

I have the same code on my 2003. It showed up after i converted my interior lights to LED but it doesn't effect anything operationally.

Code readers are dangerous things.
Look at it this way, if you didn't have one, or didn't randomly decide to see what your car was thinking, you'd never know.
Place your hands tightly over your ears, screw your eyes shut and repeat loudly 'la la la la la'.

Always happy to help if I can.

If the forum helped you, why not help the forum back. Thats the Z4 way!
