Suplex Springs

Hi,

I am thinking of replacing my springs which are m sport on a 3.0i 2004 zed.

I have read that Suplex are supposed to be the same as the genuine BMW ones and come off the same production line.

That I can see, Suplex 06248 are the equivalent of m sport front springs and Suplex 06231 for the rear.

Does anyone know if this is correct. Also, the specifications on the sellers site confuses me as it states for manual transmission. I would have thought the springs would be the same regardless of transmission type.

Grateful for any information on this as the dealer is asking for £500 for the complete set and the Suplex comes to £215 all in.

Thanks

Hi, I have bought from Suplex for my E85 3.0i manual and those part numbers were correct for me. I knew they were a direct replacement for OEM M-Sport springs, but have not read they are made on the same production line. Either way, I have been told they aren't as prone to spring snap as the OEM springs.

Looking in the Suplex catalogue (https://www.suplex.de/suplex-katalog/?lang=en) it actually shows a different front spring PN for the auto to the manual... 06249 (I assume you have a roadster?). Worth checking in the catalogue above. Here is a snip of the page for E85 with M-Sport suspension.

Thanks TheDan, you beat me to it. Yes the springs on the auto transmission is different and the number is 06249 as shown on the chart you sent me. I feel better for knowing that I can save just under £300. I already have the new shocks and it would be great to change the springs whilst I am at it. Thanks again.
