Seat swop air bag light

I changed my current memory seats over to a set with memory and heated

One of the seat belt tensioners on the swop seat had activated, so i swopped my good one over.

Seats work fine. however the airbag warning light wont go off, after driving a short distance the seat belt alarm sound happens, as if i havnt clicked the seat belt in place

Took the seats back out and checked the connections but still the issue

Do i need to get the airbag system reset??

Thoughts appreciated

Did you disconnect the battery 20 mins before disconnecting the seats?
If no, then you will need it reset; if yes, then it may be a faulty passenger seat occupancy sensor, available on ebay for a few quid. But you'll still need it to be reset as airbags are safety-critical and the warning is 'latching' so won't go off by itself.

Do you know the donor car? Because another thing to take into consideration is that pre- and post-facelift seats have different seat occupancy sensor mats - and therefore a post facelift passenger seat in a pre facelift z4 will cause the airbag light. There’s several earlier discussions about this.

Hi Sidewaze Samm, do you have the link for this as I can only see the bypass kits.

Thanks

No I didn’t disconnect battery didn’t think it would be an issue with only unplugging
Thanks for the feedback I know what to do now cheers
