The in-laws neighbour reversed into me this morning

Poor guy was devastated though so spent time calming him down before looking at the damage. Managed to get the big dent out of his Merc with some boiling water which was good.

Lots of it down to the plastic unfortunately. Gonna cost him a few quid sadly

What a complete imbecile. How did they manage to hit your car?

I can understand vehicle collisions whilst driving, but when someone's reversing or driving out of their own driveway (I assume that's what they were doing), it comes down to a complete lack of attention.

Since this morning I've had a coolant low warning and a very clear leak. Checked the radiator location...

I spent too many years getting angry over things.

Each to their own, and I totally understand all approaches, feelings and reactions but I'm not personally going to get aggressive with an old man for an accident he immediately owned up to and was clearly distraught about

Looks like it's heading down the insurance route be wary of informing your own insurance at any point or it will be detrimental to your future premiums whether you are protected NCB or not.
