I've no scratches but I try to avoid using the touch facility and use the I-drive knob at all times, if I can as I hate seeing finger prints all over it. It's probably in the process of removing the greasy finger marks that scratches it

I never use the touch screen as can’t be doing with the finger marks. The screen and digital display does appear to get fine scratch’s from light cleaning no matter how carefully you clean it. However, it’s only when direct sunlight hits the screen that I can see any of the small scratches TBH.

Thanks for this. I have put feelers out elsewhere and suggestion is all BMW Screen seem to scratch easily and buy a screen protector. I find the I drive knob useful but still like to touch the screen as well.

Thanks for the replies. If i find a bespoke protector for RHD cars ill post a link after i have fitted it.

There is a screen protector, and I'm sure it will make the scratches invisible, however it is a little pricey. Not sure they do one for RHD cars, I'll message them.

Also one slightly cheaper

I always like ordering from Amazon.

Think I might get one of these even though scratches have never been an issue. Would be something that annoyed me though. Also you can order directly from a company in Germany but not sure if it will be Lhd or RHD.

There is a trade off to be made here to be honest. The screen has the anti-glare coating which is working very well in my opinion. The protective film will certainly degrade the performance of the coating so that the reflection will be very annoying especially when you put the roof down. On the other hand though, although I don't know how the scratch happened, but since you've had that, that means the coating and the screen need some protection.

I personally is in the no film group. None of my phone, tablet, cars or anything with a screen has the film applied. When my G31 is used to transport anything that may damage the screen, I just wrap with a cloth or bubble wrap. I cound't find a similar usage scenario for the G29 so never consider the screen protective film at all. Plus, the protective film for our cars sold in UK are just so expensive.

Think I’m with you on this. I don’t use any screen protectors on any devices.
