Alpina gear lever

Post by Dangerm » Fri Jan 17, 2020 9:32 am

I've just purchased from the UK my first Alpina Roadster, and have waited 4 months for it to arrive in New Zealand - where it will be one of two here. I've now seen it in the flesh, and have to wait a few weeks for compliance etc before I get to drive it. I noticed that it had the shorter M gear lever - and wondered what the forum view was on whether this is an improvement from having an Alpina one?

Alpina gear lever

In my opinion the Alpina gear knob is not very well weighted so it doesn't give a great throw. I replaced my one with a stainless steel one from Storm Motorwerks and it certainly made an improvement. Your one was possibly replaced for the same reason.

I’d probably try and find the correct gear knob though just for completeness even if I didn’t fit.
