Any chance you make this kit for E85 to replace the front fog lights?

Cheers
I have backing plates that fit the standard Z4 but I have no fog light replacements right now, I'm willing to make some if you want to take some pictures and measurements.

Hi,

Thanks for the offer, that’s great. What price are you wanting for the whole kit vs just the backing plates?
03 53, 3.0i. BBK including lines.

The backing plates will be the same price as for the Z4 M.

"- Backing plates and funnels is 1000 SEK which is about 82£."

Since the fog lights on the standard Z4 are smaller than the intakes on the Z4 M I'm estimating the front bumper ducts will be 1000 SEK/82 £ as well. So that'll be a total of 164 £, shipping and fees not included.

We've been down for over a year and a half because of building a house, but we're now back in business! New products will be coming soon as well. Both a race version up front and cooling for the rear as well.

Hi Westersund, I fitted additional cooling to my front brakes a few years ago, but I’m interested to know what you have in mind for the rear?

Hello! For the rear I'm planing on making kind of like the front kit but retaining the original style mounting for the parking brakes and making some kind of scoop for the lower control arm.

Thanks, I'll watch this thread for pics when you've finalised the design

Please do! I'll update once I'm finished with them.

The race version for the front is done. 1 mm thickness instead of 1,5 mm, scaled down (size), stronger (folded edges), lighter and revised ducts with better air flow. The holes will be dimple died.

Nice Andre, good stuff! Interested to see what you do with updated front race version. Is it much benefit over the original version?
Would you be able to design the front duct so the air points more into the centre / bell of the disk rather than on the disc itself or is this not possible with the space? I'm guessing would be a bit tight!

Also I don't know whether you've looked into replacing the printed duct that goes on to the heatshield. I ended up replacing mine with a metal version because as you know I'm a ham fisted idiot and broke your original printed ones multiple times! Maybe an option to consider to save costs?

Hey! I'm not a girl! :x  The first version is based on the backing plates I made for my Z3 track car that runs 345 mm CSL discs. The middle of the outlet is placed right where were the vains/cooling inlet of the discs are, and 1,5 cm to each side. So yes, a part of the airflow hits the disc but most hit the vains or inside the bell. The position/duct on the new racing backing plates use the same outer diameter but is 10 mm bigger/closer to the centre of the wheel hub, the outlet is also a lot wider.

Haha I'm aware! You would be best using zip ties instead of hose clamps. :P I've looked into options but the manufacturing costs won't justify the added strength. To be frank it's only you and one other guys in sweden that have broken the ducts on the backing plates and I've sold a lot of them.

My unique selling point with the 3D-printing is that I can offer kits to rare models (I make for common models as well) other companies don't have any economical interest in, but I also try to do it at a reasonable price. I've looked into sleeving the ducts as well but that means the walls have to be made thinner which means they will be more fragile to bending forces rather than clamping forces, no bueno. If I would consider using a dimension of sleeve that means stepping away from standard pipe dimensions I have to have the sleeves machined and that will become too expensive as I don't have a lathe myself. But I do try to evolve and always look for new solutions but I have to consider if it's worth the extra cost and most importantly will the customer want to pay for that extra cost?
