My Z4m Supercharged

Post by Dominic22 » Thu Sep 19, 2019 6:01 pm

I picked up the Z4m yesterday so I thought I would get a couple of photos as of course in the advert there was none of the engine bay. I have not really been out much but what I have has been a real giggle. I will change the seats or adapt them as I am just too low in them but they are really comfortable. I am going to meet-up with Bryon on Saturday who also has a supercharged one so I can at least see if there are any differences etc. You can change the ride hight apparently on the Bilstein suspension but I have no idea.... I also need to find out what AP's are on there from Tom at TGM Sport and Racing in Fleet who did all the work but I have the invoice for the parts which was a fortune.
All the new suspension, brakes, supercharger are basically new with less than 2000 miles which was really a couple of trips by the previous owner, which is a terrible shame.
I will certainly need help from the forum as I want to change a few things and so will value everyone's greater knowledge than me. It will go away for the winter so I am going to enjoy the next few days sun. Excuse the photo with my daughter in there, I forgot to take some with the hardtop on

So you you took the brave pill then. Nice one.

Quite a few differences under there compared to Byron's car, If I recall correctly.

That's going to be a wild ride. :driving: :D

Congrats.

Big question, what are you doing about the roof, if anything?

AP only do 1 kit for the Z4M, so it's a safe bet that its on CP5575 front calipers with 365x32mm discs and CP5144 rear calipers.

My intention at this moment is to get rid of the race cage and put the roof back, it looks quite simple to do. I am looking at the moment for a used roof but they all them seem to have gone when I enquire.

If I do then I will need some of the plastic trim replaced (back of the centre console if that makes sense) as that has been adapted to fit the race cage.
I have the winter to accumulate the bits but I'm looking now. The balance is seats. Do I go with a more upmarket bucket, I have seen some lovely Lotus ones which are Recaro CS's or do I get some M-sport ones back in.

Great to see you got the roof off Dom, reverting back to a folding roof (even if it’s manual) & fitting regular M Heated seats would certainly make it more usable.

If you find the current ones comfy, can you fit brackets to raise them up to your taste?

They suit the car really well. Were they straightforward to fit or did you need to make new frames?

Wow, your car looks fantastic OP - must be a pretty exciting drive as well!

Good luck finding a hood - that will make it much more practical to use as a road car.
