Interesting. I've had advice not to increase the rev limit. Can't remember why - I think it was a Valvetronic or VANOS limitation. I know some people have deleted some of these parts, or locked the Valvetronic wide open. FWIW, 290bhp is as far as I want to go without pushing me up a class.

I had my old 3.0si remapped, with the rev-limiter raised to about 7500rpm. I had it dyno'd, and whilst the peak numbers were a bit iffy (247bhp IIRC), peak power was at 7,400rpm from memory, nice smooth line up to that point, which is the most important thing. Not sure if it was starting to tail off after 7400 due to the soft limiter these cars have but yeah mine did 15k and several trackdays with no issues, sold it on about 105k miles in the end, still going strong!

Thanks Ed, that's good to know.
Completed the MILVs fitting and ran the engine for a few minutes last night. Didn't throw any codes, and I didn't hear anything rattling about in the engine! It's booked back on the rolling road for a power run next Wednesday so we'll see what benefit this brings (without a tune).

Good to hear no issues after fitting . Must have been a bit of a heart in mouth moment . Those results will be interesting to see as there seems to be some debate on whether you get any gain without the tune for the MILVs .

Rolling road says that the MILVs have cost about 5bhp across the board. Peak power is the same, but torque is down everywhere.
Racing at Snetterton on Saturday so will be interesting to see what it's done to vMax and if the ECU adapts during the day.
And still waiting for a refund from Superchips

Almost forgot you were going to be at Snetterton. I'll see if I can get there. That straight will certainly be a test of the engine power, though I think it's a little slower these days since they put all the new bit in. Not quite the same run at it.

I cant seem to find your post about Superchips apart from this :" I also have a Superchips tune to try but wasn't able to apply it today." Would it not work ?

Well, I applied it and it was identical to the OEM map. I was then promised a new file which never arrived. I returned the PowerGate device last week.

Liam22, can't make it to see you on Saturday, sorry. Got one, possibly two viewings of the 2.5si I have for sale.
Good luck mate. Hope it goes well.
I'll be able to hear you from my house anyway.

How much notice can you give regarding the races you'll be entering this season? Would love to come and watch but I'm in Scotland and have to really plan time off from work. Nice car by the way.Liam22 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 13, 2022 4:37 pm Rolling road says that the MILVs have cost about 5bhp across the board. Peak power is the same, but torque is down everywhere.

Don't think it had all loaded properly.
