Hey Guys,
Just wanting some opinions and possibly pics (as it's very hard to find images of z4 coupes on style 230 and 225s), I have the opportunity of picking up one of the following wheels to replace my e90 m3 rep wheels. The prices are -

Style 230 - ~$6-700 Australia Dollars, no tyres, perfect condition no marks etc, genuine 19x8 et37 19x9 et39

Style 225 - ~$1200 AUD, runflats, good condition, same specs as the 230's I believe

CSL reps - $800, come with bald tyres, one wheel has a dent which will need fixing (~$200) and additionally I don't think the fronts are the same brand reps as the rears... The specs are 19x8.5 et40 and 19x9.5 et45.

I love the look of csl wheels (although a lot of BMWs here have them and everyone would know they are replica wheels), given the options which wheel would you guys choose? I'm kinda tempted towards the style 230s as they are rare'ish by the looks of things, bbs made and a hell of a lot easier to clean than all other wheels (including my e90 m3 reps which are horrendous to keep clean lol). I think the 230 and 225's weigh about the same, I reckon the e90 reps I have weigh the most and have absolutely no idea how much csl reps weigh...

If it was between the 230 or 225 I’d probably go for the 225. I’m sure Jamie and Andy have rocked those before so there’ll be photos of them on a z4 floating about somewhere

I just love the 230s. here is a norwegian Coupe with 230s.

Also I would not recommend the 225s. they crack easily. I had a set on my F30. And if you google Style 225 and cracks there are plenly of them out there that have had this problem.

They look great! 8)

I have been considering a set of these for my E85, but not so sure the proportions work quite as well on the roadster as they do on the coupe. You mention cracks on 225s, but I thought 230 were just as susceptible.

Think I’m sold on the style 230’s!! They really suit the coupe, I think they would be a better choice than csl’s given it’s a rarer look on the car.

They kinda make the car look more exotic

230s are a stunning wheel.

With a nice finish and a good polish they look even better. The contours really start to show.

That Coupe looks great on 230s.

I've got a similar look and easy cleaning, but in 18" size with a set of 295s that I bought from a forum member with an E89 who bought a set of 230s.

Not a coupe and being black, they’re difficult to get a decent photo of. I have toyed with changing for some 224’s or arc 8’s but keep deciding to stick with them.

Look really nice in the flesh and with 10mm spacers all round, fill the arches perfectly.

Hey guys, so checked out the style 230 wheels and they are in perfect condition except one of them has a visible weld inside the barrel about 3cm long. It hasn’t been sanded back or anything so I can clearly see the bead, it looks clean. Question is should I walk away? (Asking for $1k AUD now), would it be too dangerous driving the car with a welded wheel?
