How-To - e89 Cruise Control Retro-fit

Yeah unfortunately that part number is only for the slip ring and it is compatible with the e89. I can also assure you, and others, that the e90 stalks ARE compatible with the e89 as well. So this can only be down to a faulty set of stalks and not a compatibility issue here. I've done a lot of cross-referencing and superseded checking on all possible combinations for these so you can get the most economical way to do this mod.
I would put up a list of part numbers, but a lot of sellers just put the slip ring number which doesn't help.

And just to confirm that it is compatible.... (don't forget this is ONLY for the coil spring, not the stalk assembly!)...

Can anybody share the "NCExpert Profiles"? The download link in the guide is no longer valid. Thanks!

Have you looked at the latest version of the 'How-To' pdf?
In fact if the are using the Beemergeeks NCSExpert then it comes with profiles already loaded

I am following the guide. The download link in the guide is broken.
Skipping that results in this:

Well, I thought everything went fine, as everything seems to functions right, but I lost my lights indicators on the instrument cluster. Any ideas?

The daytime, low and high beam indicators no longer work (though the actual lights function fine). Carly now shows problems with DTC and the instrument cluster.

I am going to try the coding again. I found another NCS profile file online which is named "Expertenmodus (Werkseinstellung)", just like in your guide, so hopefully it works better. I also updated the "SP Daten" via "BMW Coding Tools", something which I didn't do before (as it wasn't an actual step in the guide).

I also updated the "SP Daten" via "BMW Coding Tools", something which I didn't do before (as it wasn't an actual step in the guide). It'son the first page, telling where to find it along with a link of how to install them. This is not a guide of how to set up NCSExpert, it'sa guide to install cruise control, which is why the link was put there
See responses above.
If it doesn't work with the new profile then I'm thinking it may be a faulty set of stalks.

After redoing the process, the blue (high beam) indicator now works fine. Was there an indicator for the low beam or daylight running light to start with? (Not that I would need one, as I keep the short beam always on.)

No just the blue high beam indication.

It looks like the link has been changed so I'll have to update the how-to and re-upload the profiles again.

Glad yours is working now.

Thank you very much for the guide, it's so nice to have this feature. I can't believe BMW didn't fit this as a standard option given how small the hardware difference is.

I would like to clarify.
For those like me who have a heated steering wheel, the part you buy must have the blue connector as in the photo.

This is the one I bought
