Just seen one in the flesh...
...and it looks HUGE - or more precisely not much smaller than a 6 series that was a couple of bays away.
Here are the pictures of the Z4 sDrive35i I saw at Anglesey circuit this afternoon (sorry for the poor picture quality - I only had my phone with me).

Mmmm what was it doing there - 5th Gear use it don't they? What did you think of it in the flesh?
What silver was it, hard to tell from the pics - Orion (like the launch pics) or Titanium?

Re: Just seen one in the flesh...
It was parked next to one of the racer's trucks - I guess it belonged to a sponsor, visitor, or family member?Wondermike wrote:Mmmm what was it doing there - 5th Gear use it don't they? What did you think of it in the flesh?
It looks better in the flesh than in the photos, BUT it still looks odd. The lines draw your eyes to the wrong part of the car, for example you look along the bonnet from the front and one eye goes automatically to the side of the windscreen, but the other follows the actual line and tries to follow it off the edge of the bonnet and along the door
Don't know the exact colour, but it definitely wasn't Orion.Wondermike wrote:What silver was it, hard to tell from the pics - Orion (like the launch pics) or Titanium?
I was tempted to get mine from the marshal's camp site and park it next to it, but I'd just finished lunch as was heading over to my post for the afternoon, so only had time to snap a few shots.

Ah OK
I want to see it in the flesh for myself, not long to go now.

I spent some time crawling around a 370Z yesterday. I'm not crazy about the lines on a 370Z roadster, but thr coupe is looking more and more attractive to me.

The 650i is 4,820m x 2,036m while the new Z4 is 4,239m x 1,790m. The E89 Z4 has grown longer by roughly 165mm and less than 10mm wider. We're still far from a 6 Series here.

Re: Just seen one in the flesh...
We saw a load in the flesh when we looked round the plant that makes them.
I am not very keen on the new model, it does look a bit better in the flesh but still no where near as good as the old Model.
I wonder how well it went round the circuit - I would imagine not as well as the old car with all that extra weight and (I suspect) a less rigid frame.

I still think all five-spoke style wheels fit Z4 better.
Current BMW: 640d Gran Coupe M Sport (F06), 118d SE (F20).
Previous BMW: Z4 sDrive23i M Sport (E89), 318i Sport (F30), 120d SE (F20), Z4 2.5i Sport Roadster (E85), 523i Sport (E60), 323Ci (E46), 523i SE (E39), 318i (E36).

It wasn't there to race, it was simply a road car parked next to one of the Formula Ford trucks.Roaders wrote:I wonder how well it went round the circuit - I would imagine not as well as the old car with all that extra weight and (I suspect) a less rigid frame.

Re: Just seen one in the flesh...
Just noticed something. In your second pic, that swage line that runs up the door just looks wrong because it doesn't follow the door's bottom edge? May be the shadow on the photo?
3.0si Z4 Coupe then an sDrive 35i Z4. Great cars, now gone. Range Rover Evoque owner now!
