i would have assumed with its proper seats , electronic front diff + quattro + 19s with 255 35 rubber x 4 & Audi not exactly known for weight saving that it would have outweighed the Z by some margin :? then again those stock backboxes , they weigh like a tank of fuel :P
I’m surprised at that, what did it weigh out of interest Andy?

For instance the e46m3 quoted weight by BMW includes 3/4 tank of fuel and driver, whilst when they quoted the weight for the CSL that was with no driver and half a tank or something, naughty imo.
Would you attribute the bulk of the drop to losing oe backboxes & fitting the Apec 8s ?

That's not bad at all with the blower etc on there!

I also love the Alpine. It's not cheap though and auto only sadly!

Still can't wait to drive one.

yeah not bad at all, and entirely possible to get into the low 1400, high 13s.... very possible, with a set of tillets i should imagine i'll be their, power to weight is bonkers really.... right up their even today. i didn't remove anything from the car what so ever!! This was at perry barr council site!! 20 quid if you want the print out . Would have liked alittle lower i was hoping for 1420 ( i guess i was dreaming) ... but its on par or slightly less than most of the stock roadies posted up , bar the engine work, the other weight saving bits have helped clearly.

actually ive had time to have some food and digest the numbers and 1438 is really respectable starting block considering the monumental performance..... my initial dissapointment feeling hasty. Im happy with that number but how accurate are these lorry scales???

Stand on it yourself and see what you weigh - will give you an idea of +/- if it registers you 20kg lighter than you are or vice versa.

No idea if that is scientific, just seemed to make sense....or to look less daft, sit in the car next time!

Roughly I think the savings go something like...
20 kg for my carbon bucket, maybe a bit more. Only 1 mind.
20kg for the wheels
10kg for the brakes
20kg on the back boxes
7-10 on the battery
Maybe 5 on the airbox
5 on the rear control arms
Perhaps 2 or 3 on some of the rear trim removed.

The 1380 figure I got was without some of those mods, when I next get the chance I want to weigh it on the same scales that dave did for his unusually it seems lardy cab.
MC[IB], CSL airbox, Schrick 288/280 cams, 4.44FD, UUC SSK, SS race cat back, AP CP9660[F]/5144[R] brakes, Apex ARC-8 with AR-1 or PS5, KW ClubSport 2-way, Turner spherical arms, PMC uniball rtab, VB engine mounts, Rogue pulleys & RSMs, Tillett B6, half cage

Purely for comparison my 981 2.7 comes in at 1360 wet. You can really feel the difference, but the M is still pretty light isn’t it.
M roady...OEM CSL’s, strut brace, Remus back boxes, ZHP
